Jewish Federation of Delaware's Young Leadership (YLD) connects Jewish singles, couples and families in their 20’s, 30's and 40’s in social, educational, philanthropic and social action initiatives. YLD believes that the future of the Jewish community depends on the development of new leaders and on the philanthropic efforts of our generation and those who follow.
YLD social events are a welcome end to the daily grind and a great way to meet new people (Chanukah Party, Apples and Honey, Jewish Heritage Night at the Blue Rocks).
YLD offers educational programs and topics that are important and pertinent to young adults today (Shabbat for 100, PJ Library, Federation Shabbat).
Hands-on Volunteer Opportunities
YLD members make a profound difference in many lives through a variety of community service initiatives and projects (Phoning Sessions, Volunteering and Social Action projects, Shalom Baby).
Annual Campaign Activities
Our community relies on the strength and spirit of the younger generation to continue to fulfill our teaching that Kol Yisrael arevim zeh ba-zeh, all Jews are responsible for one another. Our work would not be possible without the Federation’s Annual Campaign – it’s the most effective way to reach out and help our fellow Jews right here at home as well as in 70 countries around the world. Join other YLD members in making solicitation calls and connecting with their peers to secure contributions to the Annual Campaign and understand the feeling of helping out a fellow Jew in need.
15/30 Giving Program: Your Small Change Can Change the World!
You can make a difference in the world just by making a change in your giving habits. Think of all the fun things we spend money on as young adults – numerous cups of coffee, clothes, music, movies, and more. By donating $15 or $30 a month, the equivalent to a new shirt or a nice dinner, we can change the world. For those of us just starting to fit tzedakah into our lives, this is an easy way to start a lifetime of giving. Your $15 or $30 monthly donation has the power to do amazing work throughout the world. Together, we can do extraordinary things.
The Ben-Gurion Society (BGS) is founded on the principles of David Ben-Gurion, the first Prime Minister of the State of Israel. BGS embodies Ben-Gurion's legacy, that young men and women use their vision and combine their power, passion and resources to build a strong and responsible Jewish community at home, in Israel, and around the world – through leadership development, networking opportunities and special events. BGS members are donors, ages 25-45, who give a minimum gift of $1,000/year to the Annual Campaign.
