Scholarships

The Jewish Federation of Delaware and the Jewish Fund for the Future provides scholarship funding to high school students, undergraduate and graduate students. Please note guidelines and deadlines vary by fund. Scholarships are available for students from Delaware or studying in Delaware. 

To apply for the Jerusalem Study Fund, Jewish Fund for the Future Scholarship Fund, Gilbert J. Spiegel Memorial Fund, or Isadore and Rose Reitzes Memorial Fund for Jewish Education please use the following application form:


  • Jerusalem Study Fund

    The Jerusalem Study Fund is a permanent restricted endowment of the Jewish Fund for the Future and supports students 16 or older (with preference to applicants aged sixteen through twenty-four) in their study at educational institutions located in Jerusalem, or its proximate suburbs in Israel. The Fund supports payment toward international transportation, tuition, books, room and board to defray expenses which otherwise would be paid by recipients. Funding varies depending on the number of requests received and program cost. Please download the scholarship application above.

  • Jewish Fund for the Future Scholarship Fund

    For post-college level studies in Jewish communal service, Jewish education, Jewish studies, Rabbinical or Cantorial degrees.

  • Gilbert J. Spiegel Memorial Fund

    The Gilbert J. Spiegel Memorial Fund, a permanent restricted endowment of the Jewish Fund for the Future, supports leadership development programs approved by the Jewish Federation of Delaware.

  • Isadore & Rose Reitzes Memorial Fund for Jewish Education

    For innovative continuing Jewish education post Bar/Bat Mitzvah promoting Jewish identity, continuity of the Jewish people, knowledge of the history and customs.

Joseph and Marion Greenbaum Scholarship Fund-
The Joseph and Marion Greenbaum Scholarship Fund, a permanent restricted endowment of the Jewish Fund for the Future, provides scholarships for undergraduate students to attend accredited colleges or universities. Application deadline is April 14th for the following Fall Term. Please complete application below and email to: Scholarships@Shalomdel.org


The GRATZ High School Scholarship Fund of the Jewish Fund for the Future*-
Gratz Hebrew High School may have closed its classroom doors a few years ago, but it is still educating teens in our community. Their legacy lives on through The GRATZ High School Scholarship Fund of Jewish Fund for the Future.

The GRATZ High School Scholarship Fund of the Jewish Fund for the Future, the endowment arm of the Jewish Federation of Delaware, was established by Gratz Hebrew High School in 2011. Merit scholarships are awarded to high school students (currently in 9th to 12th grade and gap year) attending a program in Israel, a Jewish Camp, or some other form of educational Jewish program. The amount available is determined annually by the proceeds of the fund.

Only complete the "The GRATZ High School Scholarship Fund Application" if you are applying for the Gratz scholarship. If you are planning on applying for any additional funding from the scholarships listed on this page, you will need to fill out both applications; "The GRATZ High School Scholarship Fund Application" & "Jewish Fund for the Future Scholarship Application." Grants

The Goldinger Trust-
The Goldinger Trust is for the purposes of “promoting and expanding agricultural research for food and fiber and animal science in Israel.”

Arnold D. Kerr Holocaust Education Endowment Fund & Grant-
Named in honor of Holocaust survivor Dr. Arnold D. Kerr, this community-funded endowment ensures that Delawareans continue to be educated about the Holocaust. Educators currently teaching in the Delaware area are invited to apply for a one-time Holocaust studies grant, that support of work in the classroom. Educators and community organizations are welcome to apply; preference may be given to teachers in Language Arts/English and Social Studies/History.

The Milton & Hattie Kutz Foundation-
According to the Last Will and Testament of Milton Kutz, admitted to probate on June 24, 1953 and pursuant to the By-laws of the Milton and Hattie Kutz Foundation, the funds must be administered exclusively for educational, scientific and charitable purposes.

The Charter of the Foundation notes that the use to which funds are applied shall not be restricted to the people of any race, faith, color or creed, but shall be administered on an interdenominational basis.

Grant proposals must be received by April 1st in the year they are being considered. The 2024 deadline has been extended to April 15th. Grants will be awarded in June. Please refer to criteria for grants and guidelines for grants available for download below.

Jewish Fund for the Future (JFF) is the planned giving and endowment arm of the Jewish Federation of Delaware. Established to ensure the vitality and future of the Jewish community in Delaware, the Brandywine Valley, in Israel and around the world. The funds at JFF are cementing the Jewish Federations of Delaware’s role as our community’s resources for perpetual funding of Jewish causes. JFF includes endowment fund of Federation beneficiary agencies, several area synagogues and over 100 individuals and families.
